One of the hardest polishes to get...

So around the first of the year I was surfing blogs and ran across Rainbowify Me, a nail blog written by a very nice lady named Marianne. And she had for swap...wait for it... OPI Black Spotted! And after a few weeks of "negotiating" a reasonable trade, we each shipped off our respectable packages.

In addition to sending the OPI black spotted, she also sent some candies from where she lives (Denmark).

So I just wanted to say thank you to Marianne. I have wanted this polish ever since I ran across it on Pinterest when it first was released.

Now I just need to do a manicure with it, but there are so many choices of color combinations I could do.
I think choosing colors for my nails was much easier when I only had a few different polishes. Now that I have over 200 I have too many choices.

A busy start to the new year, bunnies, and an elusive polish

I started this blog with every intention of writing a post at least once a week. I managed two in a row and then life happened. I got a stupid head cold that had me out of commission and then the Spring semester started. This is my last semester of my AS degree (associate's of science) and I have been purely focusing on school. But now that I have settled in to my new schedule, I think I can maybe try again to meet my 'at least once a week' goal.
So the first thing I want to write about is not polish related. A little over a year ago I "inherited" an outside pet rabbit from my next door neighbor who passed away in a house fire. This rabbit was pretty cool. When I first took over care for it, it had become almost feral as it had lived outside for the last couple of years because my neighbor let it. It took me a few months but I was finally able to get it used to me, and finally pet it and "tame" it somewhat. Well about a week and a half ago the rabbit passed away. I was pretty bummed but not too surprised. I think the rabbit was pretty old and I think it had been sick for a while. Well I realized how cool rabbits were and decided that I wanted to get another pet rabbit. So I looked around online and in the classifieds and finally located a shelter that had a few rabbits for adoption. I went to look at the rabbits and I knew that I had found my new pet. Only I didn't get just one. I got two! And they are the cutest rabbits.
This is Mohawk. He is a lionhead mix. When he stands up on his back legs you can see his mohawk.
This is Thumper. He is a flop breed. I named him thumper because he likes to thump his hind legs when he is unhappy about something. It is actually quite funny.

So those are my new family members. I also have some news about a very hard to obtain, elusive nail polish, but it deserves it's very own post. Which I will be posting soon.

My NEW YEARS haul

My very first purchase of the new year. I was able to get all of this from Sally Beauty Supply for less than $30. I was pretty pleased with my self.
Included in my haul:
China Glaze
Creative fantasy: a pretty purple polish that is black light responsive.
"Cheers!" gift set includes: Angel Wings ( a gold holographic glitter polish), Glistening Snow (a silver holographic glitter polish), and a free shot glass. I picked up two of these sets.
Seche Vite quick dry topcoat
Sally girl: glow in the dark. I picked up two of these also.
Orly
Mini Rose Radiance (a light shimmery pink)
Mini Velvet Rope (a violet color polish with silver specks in it)
Color Club
2pk Winter Affair includes: Berry and Bright (red and goldish duochrome, scented) and Snowflakes (a pinkish gold flakie). I also picked up two of these. Would have grabbed more if they had any. Color Club is a very rare find for me, I only know of three places within a 75 mile radius that carries Color Club sometimes.
I am pretty excited about my new polishes. Now I just have to decide which colors to wear.

I have no idea what I am doing

So I feel a little silly writing a post that I am sure will not be read by anyone. But I have to start somewhere.
First order of business is to decide on a blog title. I have changed the title probably a dozen times and still do not have any idea what I want for my title. So if anyone out there does read this and has any title suggestions, I am all ears.
Second order of business is to probably give an overview of who I am and what I plan on doing with this blog. Basically, this is meant to display my nail art and explore the wonderful world of polish and possibly connect with other polish addicts. But I am also somewhat of a geek, so I will also have some random non-nail art related posts. I guess we will just see how this goes.
In the mean time, I will be customizing and editing and whatnot and if there are any readers of my non sense, feel free to give constructive criticism and/or suggestions for content.
Wish me luck!
